Dr. Hurd
Dr. Daniel Hurd is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Mohs Micrographic Surgeon. He is the President and CEO of New River Dermatology and New River Aesthetics and has been in private practice since 1999 where he serves the entire New River Valley and Wytheville with superior Dermatologic care.
A Marshall University graduate, Dr. Hurd attended medical school at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine where he graduated with high honors. Dr. Hurd completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his Residency in Dermatology at Ohio University. He is double boarded in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and is the only Physician in Blacksburg, Virginia to provide this surgical subspecialty.
Dr. Hurd has authored numerous peer reviewed scientific articles, he lectures regionally and nationally, and directs postgraduate Dermatology training to physicians from all over the United States. He is the past president of the West Virginia Dermatology Society and is currently the Dermatology Program Director and Discipline Chair for the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Assistant Clinical Professor at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Hurd provides free Dermatology care on a continuous basis both regionally and internationally. He is married, has four daughters and lives in Blacksburg, Virginia.
